2012 CAM SCHOLARSHIPS

CAM and our sponsors are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for the 2012 conference, Museum Making it Happen. The deadline to apply was Friday, November 18, 2011.

Scholarship recipients must meet at least one eligibility criterion, be residents of California, and successfully articulate the benefit of attending the conference in the application. The following are the eligibility criteria:

• staff or volunteers from small museums (with budgets of $250,000 or less);
• emerging museum professionals with less than five years experience;
• graduate students who have demonstrated a commitment to the museum field; and/or
• individuals of Latino/Hispanic, African, Asian, Native American, and Pacific Islander descent.

Due to the high response rate, scholarship recipients generally meet multiple criteria. Past CAM conference scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Nearly half of the scholarships to be awarded are funded by the San Francisco Foundation. The recipients of scholarships from this designated fund must be working professionals in museums located in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, or San Mateo counties.

Each scholarship includes a complimentary full two-day registration to the conference valued at $225-300. The scholarship does not include lodging, travel expenses, workshops, meals, or evening events.

All applications were submitted online by 11:59 PM on Friday, November 18, 2011.

Scholarship applicants will be notified via email before December 31, 2011.
